Day 1....
It's here! Day 1 of my newest renovation, and Day 1 of Christian Ray Interior's first blog post! I'm not really a writer, but there is just so much to share that goes into a renovation of this scale! I could never possibly convey with my Instagram or Facebook accounts the "story" I wish to tell, so here it is, my process...
The property is located in South Charlotte, it's a traditional 2 story home that was built in 1985! And lucky for me most of the home has all of it's original features :) My client is not a new client, but a repeat client. You see, she hired me last spring to renovate the second story of her home and now here we are tackling the first floor! The home had really pretty kitchen cabinetry and lots of millwork and moldings, but it was all just so dark! The home was also painted by the previous homeowner and featured...cream trim, cream walls, cream doors and all the trim was done in a high gloss paint...yep it looks slippery 24/7! To each his own, but my client was eager to change it all....no more cream paint everywhere, no more pop corn ceilings, no more dark kitchen cabinetry and no more dark paneling!!
And that's where I come in...we've been scheming since September, well longer for me actually, since I spent a lot of time in the house last spring and summer I've been thinking to myself all along what I would do to the downstairs if I could only get me hands on it :) First up, plans for a full kitchen remodel! Yes!!!! My favorite! We've made about 85% of our selections for this space and I can totally see this finished product in my mind.
Sharing some of the "Before" kitchen photos with you!
Stay tuned!
